What does it mean by ‘Ontario income tax’?

Assuming you’re a resident of Ontario, the income tax you pay in Ontario is how much you owe or have paid to the CRA based on your yearly annual earnings.

The amount you may pay in income tax will be based on factors such as income status and provincial tax brackets.

In Ontario, the more you earn the more you will have to pay to the CRA depending on your tax bracket.

Below are some examples:

  • 5.05% up to $51,446 of taxable income
  • 9.15% between $51,446 and $102,894
  • 11.16% between $102,894 and $150,000
  • 12.16% between $150,000 and $220,000
  • 13.16% on any taxable income exceeding $220,000
