FAQ

Questions you may have about our tax services

Who needs to file a US tax return?

US citizens and green card holders must file regardless of where they live. Canadian residents with US-source income may also need to file a 1040NR.

What is Streamlined Filing?

It's an IRS program that lets US citizens abroad catch up on unfiled returns without full penalties, if the non-filing was non-willful.

Can you handle state filings?

Yes. We handle state returns for California, New York, Florida, and every state we've encountered in practice.

Do you file for US corporations owned by Canadians?

Yes, including Form 5471 for Canadian owners of US corps and T1134 for Canadian owners of foreign affiliates.
